A Guide to Practice Basic Conversation in English

Preface

I observed students struggling to speak in English in the past several years while teaching the subjects like Communication Skills, Spoken English and Business Communication etc. Truly speaking, conversation in English became one of the challenging tasks for the students whose mothertongue was different. Being a professor of English, it was always my primary objective to make the students more comfortable in the classroom. I identified that small conversations could give them confidence while learning English. The understanding of proverbs as well as idioms definitely provides new insights to the students towards the language use. Therefore, in writing this book my attempt is to provide a platform for the beginner level learners to develop their basic conversational English. All important day today life situations are covered in the form of dialogues. Apart from that some role plays are given for practice to check whether students can frame dialogues on their own. Some important proverbs and idioms are explained in the simplest possible language which will help students to understand sentence making. I am confident that the book will fulfill the needs of the learners and they will enjoy reading it.
